Building the Kingdom

New Testament's Structure, Order of Churches & Ministries

... Praying People are CARING people!
... Praying People are HELPING people!
... Praying People are TITHING people!

    Historical Perspective

God has ordained that the true church should "earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3). God has always sounded an alarm in every age that He would have a people who would yield themselves to His Word and His Divine Plan.

We are Jesus Christ's representatives in this world: We preach and teach the Apostle's Doctrine with Authority and the Five Fold ministry as spoken of in Ephesians 7:7-14.

God is at work in our world and is manifesting Himself in all the Nations of the world; as it was in the days of the early church. God is confirming His Word with signs, wonders and miracles.

Many great moves of God have swept over Great Britain, Africa, the United States, Canada, the Isles of the Sea, India, and China. Since the Advent of Christ and the decent of the Holy Ghost on the Day of Pentecost. This can be traced back to the days of Terullian (AD 207), Chysostom (4th Century), Christians of the 13th Century, the early Quakers, Wesley, Whitfield, D.L. Moody and Charles Finney.

Pentecostal History reveals that in 1901 in the state of Kansas, the Holy Ghost fell and a great revival began in the States. Spreading southward to Texas, then reaching Los Angeles, California in 1906. This move of God lingered under the leadership of an African-American man named Elder Seymour in Los Angeles and manifested itself by the outpouring of the Holy Ghost throughout the whole world, penetrating into heathen countries, fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature: (Mark 16:15-20; Matt. 26:18-19; Luke 24:47-49 and Acts 1:4-11).

Our Aim: To know Christ and to Make Him known

Out of this Pentecostal outpouring of the Holy Spirit came men as Bishop Charles Harrison Mason, Bishop O. T. Jones, Bishop D. J. Young, Bishop A. B. McEwen and others, who gave birth to great church assemblies, such as :Church of God in Christ, Assemblies of God, Church of God, Church of Christ, and Holiness etc ..... The central aim of these churches was to contend for and preserve the faith which was given and taught to the saints in the days of the Apostles.

Pentecostal history reveals the outpouring of the Holy Spirit beginning in the early part of 1901 in Topeka, Kansas, then on to Houston, Texas - there from Azusa Street Mission, to Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson, Mississippi; a movement that originally was called the Apostolic Faith Movement, now called the Pentecostal Movement.

The great impetus of this movement touched the life of Bishop J.L. Payne under the ministry of the late Bishop A. B. McEwen. Bishop Payne received the baptism of the Holy ghost as spoken of in the Book of Acts and began spreading the Gospel across the Nation and the World. After establishing seven churches, beginning from the islands of Hawaii to Memphis, Tennessee: In 1984, he and several ministers formed and organized the Community Pentecostal Churches International in Jackson, Mississippi to serve the several churches established in Mississippi. After a few years, it became an increasing demand to meet the needs of local churches and ministers worldwide...

Thus the church is: CHURCHES OF GOD IN CHRIST, INTERNATIONAL INC.

OUR CREED: The Bible and the Bible Only!

Bishop J. L. Payne, Bishop and Chief Apostle in a special meeting in 1998 at its Annual Worker's meeting, THE   CHURCHES OF GOD IN CHRIST INTERNATIONAL PRIMARY CALL AND COMMISSION IS TO GLORIFY JESUS CHRIST, OUR SAVIOR. WHO ALONE GAVE HIS LIFE UPON THE CROSS TO REDEEM US FROM ALL SIN AND INIQUITY: AND SENT US FORTH WITH THE "WORK OF LIFE"

This Church proclaim the Bible as it's creed; discipline; rule of order and charter. It's foundation is built upon Jesus Christ and His teachings. The apostolic or apostle teaching through Apostle Paul's letters to the Church.... It is a growing ministry's body, fellowship of churches, ministers and ministries.

What is the Direction of COGIC, International Churches.?

Our main objective is to find God given leadership to help establish a fellowship with integrity, accountability, and obedience to God and those who rule over them. To reach the lost from Christ at any cost.

We are targeting the major cities throughout the United States to set up Dioceses and Churches, to faithfully, effectually assist the local Churches. COGIC, International Churches is reaching out to those wounded soldiers, who have been hurt by the political idiosyncrasy of organizations who have lost the spiritual intent of a Christian fellowship.

COGIC, International Churches is here just for you, men and women, young and old. We want you to reach your destiny in God. And to help you do what God has called you to do. It is not so much what you can do for the Church, but what you can do for God and His cause in this present world; although we expect your loyalty to the church in the ministry God has called you do for you.

We provide regular training for our pastors in Mississippi through workshops, conferences and retreats at local, regional, and national levels. The training is not only scriptural but information that pastors need so that their churches can prosper and grow. Training consists of grant writing, Pastoral Counseling and Community Service, (outreach ministries) and much more to aid our pastors in going forward into this "21st Century, the New Millennium."
